Laker Volleyball ranking #1 nationally in Digs, Block Solos, Total Blocks
Ambrose, Rankin remain in Top 10

MATTOON--Laker Volleyball is sporting several Lady Lakers in the NJCAA Division I Volleyball Top 100 for individual skills, as well as commanding three #1 national rankings as a team, including Digs (1,493), Block Solos (159), and Total Blocks (281).

Sophomore, Ryann Ambrose (Shelbyville; Shelbyville High School), continues to list all over the NJCAA rankings, currently Top 100 in a robust ten categories.

Ambrose's best is 3rd in the nation for block solos with 48, shared with one other NJCAA player, and while a hefty 23 block solos behind the nation's leader, is only one behind the player currently ranking second.

Ambrose holds a second Top 5 ranking, now 5th in Total Blocks with 100.

A Top 10 ranking is also on Ambrose's list, 9th in the country for Total Points at 304.0, a credit not only to herself but the Lake Land setters, in particular, freshman, Alexandra Beckers (Mt. Pulaski; Mt. Pulaski High School), who is also among the Lady Lakers of national note, her rankings addressed in this post.

The Shelbyville sophomore, Ambrose, goes Top 50 in several categories: 20th in Blocks per Set at 1.16; 23rd in Kills with a season total of 222; 29th in Hitting Percentage at .326; 36th in Block Assists at 52; and 49th for averaging 3.5 Point per Set.

In Total Attacks, Ambrose ranks 56th in the country with 522 thus far, and comes in at 97th in Kills per Set, averaging 2.58.

Freshman, Lexi Rankin (Mattoon; Mattoon High School), continues to hold four Top 50 national rankings, her best in the Top 10, a pair of 7th rankings in blocking, one for Block Solos with 41 and the other for Total Blocks with 93.

Rankin currently averages 1.15 Blocks per Set to rank 21st in the nation, the last of the Mattoon freshman's quadruple rankings in blocking with a 36th for Block Assists at 52 thus far this season.

A second Lady Laker boasting four Top 100 national rankings is freshman, Brooklyn Elsas (Lincoln; Lincoln Community High School), her top effort a 16th ranking for Total Attacks with 656. Elsas ranks 61st in the country for Total Points with 217.0.

The Lincoln freshman, Elsas, currently ranks 64th in the nation for Kills totaling 178, and a 74th ranking for Block Solos with 14.

Yet another Lady Laker holding four Top 100 rankings is freshman, Kristy Burford (Bethany; Okaw Valley High School). Burford's best is a 72nd national ranking for Total Blocks with 52.

Burford ranks 73rd in the country for Total Attacks, currently at 485, and 75th for Block Assists with 40. The Bethany freshman's fourth Top 100 ranking is a 93rd for Block Solos totaling a dozen.

Burford narrowly missed a fifth Top 100 ranking in Total Points.

Holding a couple Top 50 national rankings is Beckers, her best in the Top 20, a 17th ranking for Assists totaling 570. Beckers ranks 48th in the country in Assists per Set, averaging 6.63.

Freshman, Jannah Mullen (St. Joseph; St. Jospeh-Ogden High School), though out of action recently due to injury, still ranks well in Digs, her total of 241 securing a ranking of 57th in the country.

And rounding out the Lady Lakers of national note, sophomore, Claudia Watson (Shelbyville; Shelbyville High School), who holds her Top 100 national ranking in Digs at 204 thus far this season.
