MATTOON--Laker Athletics will recognize seven Lake Land College volleyball sophomore student-athletes Wednesday night at Laker Fieldhouse.

Sophomore Night is the last time sophomores will play on their home court during the regular season. The Laker Volleyball sophs, however, will play again at Laker Fieldhouse, Sept. 27-28, for the NJCAA Volleyball Division I Region 24 Tournament.

Sophomore Night is Wednesday, October 18, with a Great Rivers Athletic Conference match versus Lincoln Trail College to begin at 6:30 p.m. CDT.

There has been no posted information regarding the time of recognition of the Lady Laker sophomores, but typically, the ceremony is held just prior to the match.

The match is featured on the Victory 103.9 Laker Match of the Week (final Victory 103.9 Lake Land volleyball match of the schedule). The radio broadcast can be heard via antennae at 103.9 FM, or online at

After Sophomore Night's match, the Lady Lakers have one more regular season match, a GRAC event, Oct. 25, versus Southwestern Illinois College at Jay Harrington Court in Belleville.

Once the regular season is complete, Laker Volleyball will compete in the aforementioned NJCAA postseason tournament on Oct. 27-28, at Laker Fieldhouse, with seeding and match dates and times to be determined.
