Lake Land to face John A. Logan in Region 24 Championship

CARTERVILLE--The Lake Land College Lady Lakers will face the Lady Volunteers of John A. Logan College in the NJCAA Division I Volleyball Region 24 Championship match today at 1:00 p.m. CDT.

The John A. Logan College Lady Volunteers defeated the Kaskaskia College Blue Angels Friday night in a semi-final match to advance to the championship, 3-1, with the set scores: 25-14, 27-25, 20-25, 25-13.

The Lady Lakers have faced the Lady Vols twice this season in Great Rivers Athletic Conference play, splitting the matches.

On the last day of August, Lake Land defeated Logan in a thrilling, come from behind win in five sets, taking the last three sets after dropping the first two at Laker Fieldhouse.

Earlier in October, the Lady Lakers fell out of sync at Brewer Gymnasium, losing 3-1 to the Lady Vols.

The winner of today's championship moves on to Missouri on Nov. 5, where they will play in the District K championship versus the winner to today's Region 16 match between the Jefferson College Lady Vikings (Hillsboro, MO) and the Mineral Area College Lady Cardinals (Park Hills, MO). The winner will host the District K championship match.

The District K champion earns a berth in the National Finals, held in Casper, Wyoming, Nov. 17-19, at the Casper Events Center.
